Orthotic-Friendly Comfort Shoes

Start with manufacturer-described orthotic candidates, then assess the actual device and shoe together.

Removable does not mean universally compatible

Access to the footbed is only one requirement. The shoe also needs sufficient depth, an appropriate base and a heel position that works once the device is installed. Follow the prescriber’s instructions about the original liner instead of automatically stacking both.

Bring the complete setup to the fitting

Walk with the intended socks and orthotic in place, checking both feet. If the device shifts, crowds the toes or raises the heel uncomfortably, ask the prescriber or fitter to assess the combination. A published accommodation claim supports a shortlist; it cannot guarantee that every device will fit every size.
